While you can’t egg noodles using only a food processor, it’s definitely a good way to quickly and easily make the dough that needs to then be cut into strips.
First things first, you need to set up the appliance and make sure everything is in place, and that your workspace is empty in order to avoid any accidents.
It would also be a good idea to wash the food processor before using even if it’s your first time using it.
When you’re ready to start forming the dough, set out the ingredients next to you and first add flour and any seasoning, like salt and pepper.
Place the lid back on top and make sure it’s secure by listening out for a click.
Then you must pulse the mixture so that it can be blended in short bursts and so that you can see what is actually happening to the mixture.
After a few seconds, you must stop the food processor and then add the egg and milk or olive oil and place the lid back on.
Continue processing the mixture, taking care to ensure that mixture isn’t being over-mixed by taking breaks in between to see the consistency of the dough.
When you’re sure that a soft ball of dough has been formed with the texture that you want, stop the food processor but keep the lid on the machine.
We do this in order to allow the dough to settle and it is advisable that you allow it to remain covered for at least fifteen to twenty minutes.
After you have allowed the dough to settle, you no longer need to use the food processor so you can take out the dough and spread it around your workspace.
At this point, you will need a pasta roller with a cutter attachment and using the instruction that come alongside the appliance, cut the dough into similar sized strips or any other shape that you desire.
